Offf has just ended and, instead of leaving these notes just in my notebook, I'll put them out here, possibly with some extra information. These are just selected small notes from what I have seen and heard at Offf.
A typographer with really cool work. Many of his works are collaborations with other people (for example the Processing works).
I didn't catch this one from the begining, so I don't know the name of the presenter. I already knew some of their work (for example the kinetic sculpture for BMW). He presented Mobility which is a pretty interesting installation using prosthetic hands and mirrors to form projected light messages. He also spoke of one work from a student of his which I didn't know about: the Image Fulgurator. This is an awsome project, that basically consists of a device that projects a message into an object when someone takes a picture of that object (it basically detects the flash from the other people's camera and projects the message for a brief period). It's almost impossible to detect and he's made some impressive interventions with that.
Two american designers that publish the Lemon magazine.
Another typographer with some cool work and very good presentation skills :)
A motion and design artist that likes to work with real objects. I liked specially the process of his work (for example the cover for the computer arts magazine or the Danse Dance video)
I was a bit disappointed with this one. Their installation (at least I think it was theirs, there was no identification that I could see) was not very interesting (you could basically adjust some graphical elements - moustaches, hats, etc - over a live feed image of the audience in the main room (I think)).
And, of course, the Most Pixels Ever workshop.
